During the COVID-19 pandemic it is vital that we ensure key rural and land-based businesses, including farms and businesses with animal welfare obligations are able to access key workers and can continue operating.

To meet this requirement, there has been unprecedented action in the rural fraternity to bring together those looking for work or to volunteer together with employers and business looking for help.

Locally, Menter Môn have launched an Agri-Support system where you can register as a volunteer to help those businesses who are in need of support. If you are a farming business in need of support please contact sionedmc@mentermon.com. . If you have an agricultural skill and are in a position to be able to offer assistance, please register by stating your details by following this link.

Lantra, one of the national leading awarding bodies for land-based industries in the UK have also created a skill matching service for furloughed individuals or those looking for work. This service will put industries and potential employees with the relevant skills and experience in touch with each other within Scotland and Wales.

To join the skills matching services as an individual looking for work or as a business seeking employees you will need to complete a questionnaire confirming the skillset of the individual or as the employer confirming the staffing requirements.

Defra have also launched the Pick for Britain website which helps bring workers and employers together in the fruit & veg sector. Here, you will find growers, recruiters, and agencies that have job opportunities across the country.
