Should Planning Policy Prioritise Solar That Powers Local Businesses?

At Baileys and Partners, we love a challenge – whether we are navigating complex property matters or, as it turns out, steering a raft through roaring river rapids.
Our annual Summer team outing was an unforgettable mix of sun, high-stakes competition, and plenty of water. The weather could not have been more perfect: hot, blue-skied, and beautifully sunny.
Fuel, Fancy Dress, and Water Guns
Our day began at the National Whitewater Centre café, where the team fueled up on coffee and some seriously hearty bacon baps. Little did we know, our director, Ed, had already engineered a masterplan for the morning’s icebreaker.
We were split into teams for a challenge that tested our speed, strategy, and – most importantly – our sense of style. The mission? Don an array of ridiculous provided outfits (featuring giant inflatable flamingos, bananas, strawberries, and inflatable horses), race across the field as stylishly as possible, and grab an inflatable pool toy. The catch? The opposing team was armed to the teeth with high-powered water guns, completely soaking anyone who dared to make a run for it.
Conquering the River Tryweryn
Duly warmed up (and thoroughly dried out by the summer sun), we geared up for the main event: white-water rafting on the river Tryweryn.
Navigating the fast-flowing rapids required absolute teamwork. There was plenty of splashing, a lot of shouting, and an incredible amount of laughter as both rafts tackled the turns and drops. It was the perfect blend of adrenaline and team building.
The All-Day Trivia Showdown & The Bryntirion Inn
The competitive spirit didn’t end on the river. Ed had also crafted a custom trivia quiz that took place in stages throughout the entire day, keeping everyone on their toes between activities.
To wrap up a brilliant day, we headed over to the historic Bryntirion Inn. Nestled in a beautiful setting, the pub looked after us perfectly with a genuinely delicious meal, refreshing drinks, and a cosy atmosphere to wind down in. We crowned our quiz champions, re-lived the funniest moments of the day, and toasted to another fantastic summer with the Baileys and Partners family.
