Potential buyers invited to experience the ‘true character and potential’ of the land. Baileys and Partners are marketing a substantial sporting estate in the Cambrian mountains, Mid Wales, and we are inviting potential buyers to experience a tutored wilderness immersion weekend in order to ‘test-drive’ being the landowner.
A full immersion in – and interaction with – the land is the only way to fully appreciate the Bugeilyn Estate’s true character and potential. The wilderness immersion weekends will showcase the dramatic, unspoilt upland moorland landscape and its sporting assets.
The estate’s portfolio includes 1040 acres of land and sporting rights with additional sporting and fishing rights on and around the 75-acre Bugeilyn and Cwm-Byr Lakes. The lakes have good numbers of trout and are said to support their own indigenous species of fish – the Black-Finned Trout.
The tutored wilderness immersion weekends will be offered to serious potential buyers from early July, and will be delivered by an expert local team. The itinerary includes:
- – Wild fishing with an experienced tutor on hand
- – Clay pigeon shooting
- – A walking tour of the estate in the company of a local nature expert
- – Local ale, wine and produce tasting
- – Outdoor cooking with optional overnight camp and stargazing
Ed Bailey, a director at Baileys and Partners said:
“Bugeilyn is a place that is far removed from the hum drum predictability of life, a landscape where you can embrace the exhilaration of the natural world and all its glorious potential.
“Brochures, videos and virtual reality could never adequately convey its character. This is a living, breathing entity that communicates directly with our instinct for freedom, beauty and open space.”
The Bugeilyn Estate lies in the heart of the Pumlumon mountains, the highest point in the Cambrian Mountains. To the east stretch the Welsh Marches; the views to the west extend to Cardigan Bay Coast and the Irish Sea beyond.
The longest river in Britain, the River Severn, has its source nearby, as does the River Wye. Local hills offer superb walking, bird-watching, riding and mountain-biking. The estate is a short distance from the historic coastal market town of Aberystwyth.
The estate’s beautiful and unspoilt vistas include extensive areas of blanket bog, dry heath and high altitude grassland. There is a rental income from the freehold upland interest, and the fishing rights produce a fishery revenue. A derelict shooting lodge provides an opportunity for development. There is an additional 6000 acres of sporting rights available for sale by separate negotiation.
