A Consented 40kW Hydroelectric Site For Sale In Wales. A rare opportunity to purchase rights to develop and own a hydroelectric scheme in Wales.
Price upon application.
Detailed information is available upon request from the selling agents. The salient points are as follows;
Planning & Licensing consents
The scheme has both abstraction and impoundment licences, both of which were issued on the 16th September 2014. Both licences are due to expire on the 15th September 2017 unless the abstraction it authorises has commenced before this date. Prospective purchasers are encouraged to investigate extending the licences with Natural Resources Wales as soon as possible.
The current abstraction licences allow a 40% abstraction rate all year around but there may be some opportunity to increase the licenced abstraction rate through a variation application to Natural Resources Wales based on the existing/ prevailing flow guidance.
The existing planning consent (C14/0750/04/LL) requires the development to commence before the expiration of five years from the date of the permission which was 26th September 2014. The planning consent will expire if the development has not begun prior to 25th September 2019.
Please note, there are conditions attached to the relevant planning consent which require discharging and an Ordinary Watercourse Consent is required.
Feed in Tariff
The pre-accreditation process allows applicants to lock into the prevailing Feed in Tariff (FiT) rate which as at the date of this report is set to be 7.63p/kWhr up until 31st March 2017.
Grid connection agreement
A grid connection agreement for the scheme is available by way of separate negotiation.
Feasibility report
A feasibility report is available upon request. Modelling suggests that output could range from 94 MW/hrs/ annum to 104 MW/hrs/ annum but prospective purchasers are advised to make their own investigations to satisfy themselves in this regard.
Rights for sale
An option to purchase a lease of rights over a term of 40 years. Detail available upon further request from selling agents.
